My solo exhibition at the Jackson Junge Gallery “CUCKOO Im Not Crazy You Are” has officially opened! In this new show I took it upon myself to engage in a performance/ installation piece in which I lived and worked out of the gallery space for four days straight. The goal within this performance was to continue to produce work just as I do in the studio and invite viewers to come in and take a behind the scenes look at how I function as an artist. One of the main focuses during my time living and working at the gallery was a new work that I am calling “The Book of Knowledge”. This new piece acted as a pivotal tool in allowing me to engage with the viewers of the exhibition, I would ask anyone willing to participate if they had a word or phrase of wisdom that they would like to share with the world. As the performance progressed I would take the time to include each word or phrase given to me into “The Book of Knowledge” itself or the surrounding walls. This experience of extending my performance piece out to others proved to be a very collaborative and fruitful way for me to shine some amazing thoughts and very powerful words to the world through my work. I would like to thank anyone who was able to stop by and see me operating out of the CUCKOO nest during my time at the gallery. Your participation in helping me put together “The Book of Knowledge” has inspired me and left me feeling fulfilled as a creator. Additionally I would like to thank anyone who was able to make it out for the opening reception for the show, your support means the world to me and I cant thank you enough for spending your night with me at the nest. Introducing my latest piece! “Cuckoo Time” the craziest of all the cuckoo clocks! Come see this new work alongside so many other new pieces at my upcoming solo exhibition at Jackson Junge Gallery 1389 North Milwaukee Ave, CUCKOO- Im Not Crazy You Are! This exhibition will be running from August 11th- September 21st! I hope to see you there!

I’ve been spending a lot of time in the studio lately working on a new piece for my upcoming solo show at the Jackson Junge Gallery. This work in progress piece will feature a vibrant and colorful cuckoo clock made up of a plethora of sculpted and painted visuals. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been focusing on perfecting each small sculptural element before taking the final steps towards assembling everything into one cohesive work.

Attached above are a few photos of some of the more recent elements I’ve put together. On the left, you’ll see a work in progress shot of some gears and various sculptural pieces that are close to being finished—these will soon be ready to attach to the main piece. Additionally on the right is a broader photo showing how the piece is being composed, with each of the smaller attacments I’ve been crafting. This stage is essential to my process, as I’m constantly experimenting with the placement of each component to create the strongest overall work.
